The competition is called "Narrow Foot Race", which simulates a human running scenario, requiring robots to complete a specified distance in a limited time. Furthermore, it needs to complete the required actions on the way such as flipping and dancing. The project ultimately won the third prize in Jiangsu Robot Competition.
In terms of hardware, the biped robot used six bus servos to move forward, an MPU6050 module to correct posture and a condenser microphone module to respond to the voice command automatically.
In order to ensure the travel path stays on course, we applied the PID algorithm to the servo to minimize the angle error as much as possible and used cameras to gather information about the road for calculating the distance between the center line and the edge.
